Hello! So, the school has banned the use of cell phones here at Draper Park Middle School. (Dpms) There are many mixed opinions about it. Some of the people here like the idea of the no phone rule. Others think that it is a horrible idea. Here is my opinion. I think that it is a horrible idea.                                                                                                                            There is no reason to ban them. There is some logic to my madness though. The first thing about the rule is the whole calling home thing. I get that we have phones in the office and classrooms. But, sometimes you do not want to talk to your parents/guardian in front of people. Especially your peers. What if it is something private? Or embarrassing? You don’t want someone to hear that. 

 

Plus, we only were allowed to have them at lunch. It gave us something to do. Now, I understand that the administrators want us to be social. We are, but some of us don’t like to hang out with people. Sometimes we just want to be in our own little world, with our phones. There are many ways to get us to interact without taking our phones away. What do you think?
